Tohoku university school of medicine

The aim of this laboratory is the development of new diagnosis tool and therapeutic devices including the artificial heart, ventricular assist device, and various artificial organs by the use of new technology in the Bio Medical engineering. Our laboratory is the member in GCOE program, and Biomedical engineering research is promoted in all over the University. In the Tohoku University Hospital, out patients clinic is performed by the member of our laboratory in the department of cardiovascular surgery. Doctors graduated from our laboratory are now working in the department of Cardiology in the hospitals in this prefecture and a lot of collaboration is now undergoing, so the several clinical study are now planning. Small group teaching (SGT) and high degree medical education of Tohoku University Medical School are performed in collaboration with friend doctors in these hospitals.
