SAKURA Exchange Program in Science was held at Tohoku University School of Medicine between 9 – 16 November 2015

Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine has accepted 15 short-term trainees from East Asia with the support of "Japan-Asia Youth Science Exchange Program in Science" (SAKURA Exchange Program in Science) that has been implemented by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) in 2015. This program was held in corporation with Tohoku Tabunka Academy (TTA).

Fifteen trainees (8 females and 7 males) including undergraduates, graduates and young researchers were participated from eight universities and institutes in Asian countries such as China, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. The training was scheduled for 8 days from November 9. The trainees had laboratory training mainly, facility tours of Tohoku University and visits of the affected areas of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
