Professor Masayuki Yamamoto received the 2011 SOT Leading Edge in Basic Science Award - The highest award given to nonmember researchers for longtime study -

Professor Masayuki Yamamoto at Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine has received the 2011 SOT Leading Edge in Basic Science Award from Society of Toxicology. The reason to be awarded is his discovery of the Keap1-Nrf2 signaling pathway and contribution to the field of toxicology through a series of studies and unique achievements. The award is the highest one that is given to nonmember researchers for their significant contribution to the field of toxicology in terms of basic science study. Professor Yamamoto is the first Asian recipient. The presentation ceremony including speeches will be held at the 50th anniversary annual meeting of SOT in Washington, DC starting March 06, 2011.
