OUTLINE

The Department of Medical Informatics is devoted to practical research in medical informatics to improve quality and value in healthcare. One of the areas of our research is the development of useful hospital information systems and electronic health records.
With the advancement of information technology, the amount of data being digitally stored is vast and expanding. The Big Data is expected to create new knowledge in the medical field and to support a wide range of healthcare functions. With this in mind, we aim to accumulate huge amount of medical data and use it effectively in clinical practice. At the same time, through the “On the Job Training,” we also aim to train the type of physicians who have an enough knowledge of hospital information systems, clinical medicine and basic medicine.

医学情報学分野は、実践的医療情報学を掲げ、臨床現場にとって有用な病院情報システムや地域医療連携システムの開発、臨床研究に役立つデータ活用・基盤整備、ゲノム・オミックスデータと診療情報とを統合した精密医療の推進、災害時に有用な医療情報システムの確立、FHIRやIHE等国際標準化への貢献、などの課題を中心に取り組んでいます。
デジタル情報化が進み、世の中ではビッグデータの活用が期待されています。もちろん医療においてもその期待は大きく、新しい知見やそれに基づく臨床への還元が求められています。我々は現実の問題を一つ一つ解決し、正確性のある大規模データの収集と活用を目指します。また、On the Job Trainingを実施しながら、医療情報システム・臨床・基礎医学、それぞれに精通した横断的人材を育成します。
