OUTLINE
We are clinically forcus on craniofacial surgeries mainly for cleft lip and palate, reconstructive surgeries after resection of head and neck cancer / breast cancer, and treatments of skin ulcers of the lower limbs. To understand clinical questions, we have been conducting the following research in cooperation with other departments.
(1) Development of active osteosynthesis material using magnesium alloy (collaborated with: Nihon Parkerizing Co., Ltd.)
(2) Wound healing from the viewpoint of cell-mediated immunity (collaborated with: Division of Translational Science for Nursing, Graduate School of Medicine)
(3) Application of Muse cells to treatment of burns (collaborated with: Department of Stem Cell Biology and Histology, and Division of Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine Graduate School of Medicine)
(4) Objective evaluation of facial fracture treatment effect using Ai
Research on magnesium alloys has evolved into industry-academia collaboration aiming for practical application now.
In collaboration with Department of Science of Nursing Practice, we have regularly accepted students in the master's program of the Faculty of Nursing, have revealed the relationship between pattern recognition receptors and wound healing.
形成外科では他科と連携し、口唇口蓋裂治療を中心とした頭蓋顎顔面外科や頭頚部癌・乳がん術後の再建手術、下肢難治性潰瘍の治療を臨床として行っており、それら治療成績の向上を目指した以下の研究を現在行っています。
①マグネシウム合金を用いた能動的骨接合材の開発(連携先:日本パーカライジング株式会社)
②細胞性免疫から見た創傷治癒(連携先:看護技術開発学分野)
③Muse細胞を用いた熱傷治療(連携先:細胞組織学分野、移植再生医学分野)
④Aiを用いた顔面骨骨折治療効果の客観評価
マグネシウム合金の研究では、他大学や企業と連携した大きな枠組みでの研究に発展しており、実用化を目指す段階になっています。
看護技術開発学分野との連携研究では、医学科からの博士課程学生と共に看護学科からの修士課程学生も多く受け入れ、創傷治癒とパターン認識受容体の関係を解明してきました。
形成外科の臨床では再建外科が治療の主体であり、その成績向上には再生医療研究は必要不可欠と考えています。また、外見の問題に取り組むためにはその心理的サポートを科学的に進める必要があると考え、今後関連分野と連携し進めていく方針です。
