OUTLINE

This division supports genome cohort studies implemented in Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization (ToMMo). We are involved in the education and training of various people working in ToMMo by including originally developed educational program (2016 BMC Med Edu). In addition, we generated a SNP array optimized for Japanese population and acquired large-scale genotyping data efficiently (2021 J Biochem). We are further aiming to develop the array for practical use in terms of disease risk prediction during medical examination.
In our laboratory, we also perform genetic epidemiological studies on allergic inflammatory diseases and analyze the role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and biotin on these diseases (2021 J Nutr Sci Vitaminol).
