OUTLINE

In the Division of the Health Behavioral Epidemiology, our research should be conducted in line with the "now" social demands. To clarify the factors related to "behavior for promoting health", "unhealthy behavior", "promotion of health improvement", and "improvement of living environment", and to achieve behavioral change (changing healthy behavior for the better). We will work to build a strategy and return the results to society.

The Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization, Tohoku University advocates "medical recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake" and "promotion of individualized prevention and medical care". Among them, as a cohort of 50,000 community residents, from the management and operation of the Community-based Cohort Study, collecting high-quality data, recovering medical care in the affected areas, and promoting prevention of disease and medical care in Japan. We will contribute to build of new evidence from the perspective of research hypotheses.

This division will place importance on enhancing own research by utilizing the human resources exchange and international collaboration research of Tohoku University. There is a lot of "learning" by coming into contact with multiculturalism and communicating with multicultural researchers. We will develop high-level education and research in this division.
