OUTLINE

The purpose of this course is to conduct clinical and basic research in gastrointestinal diseases and surgery while accumulating clinical training as a surgeon at the forefront of community medicine.
Our hospital is a central hospital that covers a wide medical area from the Hamadori region of Fukushima prefecture to the northern part of Ibaraki prefecture. We have a wide variety of cases such as inflammatory bowel disease and intractable diseases in the hepatobiliary- pancreatic area. In order to meet the expectations of the community, we will improve our skills as a surgeon and proceed with research that values the questions and quests that we feel in our daily practice.
In addition, this course has deep exchanges and collaborations with the Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine, and joint research is also possible.
We are proud that this is a very attractive course for young surgeons who are interested in doctoral research but are concerned that there will be a gap in their career development as a surgeon. Please come visit us once.

本講座は，地域医療の最前線において消化器外科医として臨床修練を積みながら，消化器疾患および外科学における臨床・基礎研究を行うことを目的としています。
当院は福島県浜通り地方から茨城県北部までの広い医療圏を担う地域医療の拠点病院であり，胃癌や大腸癌に代表される消化器癌，胆石症・ヘルニアなどの良性疾患，また，炎症性腸疾患や肝胆膵領域の難治性疾患など，大変豊富な症例を有しています。地域の期待に応えるべく外科医としてのスキルアップを図るとともに，日々の診療で感じる疑問や探求心を大切にした研究を進めていきます。
また，本講座は東北大学大学院消化器外科学分野と深い交流・連携があり，共同研究を行うことも可能です。
博士課程での研究には興味があるものの，外科医としてのキャリア形成に空白が生じることを危惧している若手外科医の皆さんには，非常に魅力的な講座であると自負しています。是非一度見学にいらしてください。
