OUTLINE

The prevention of lifestyle-related diseases is a top priority in Japan, where the prevalence of risk factors for atherosclerotic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hypertension are increasing.
National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center is one of the high-volume centers with cardiovascular diseases in Japan and is composed of both hospital and research institute. We are working day and night to provide simpler and less invasive diagnosis and novel treatments obtaining better quality of life and better prognosis in cardiovascular disease.
Our department is mainly engaged in epidemiological and clinical research on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases through research at the National Cardiovascular Center. At the National Cardiovascular Center, we carry out cohort studies and various clinical studies on patients. We also carry out studies to predict the incidence and severity of cardiovascular disease using clinical research data collected from biobanks and registry studies. We are also actively involved in joint research with industry and academia using our Open Innovation Centre.
