OUTLINE

The Division of Health Policy deals with law and administrative systems related to health promotion, medical care, and research and development that contribute to the health of people. Although legal and social systems do not directly save a single patient in front of them, they directly or indirectly affect the lives of many people, as the COVID situation has shown. In health policy, it is very important that evidence-based policies are introduced at the right time, to the right people, using the right way, and that their effects and costs are properly evaluated.
Promotion of health-related research and its social implementation are also important elements of health policy. This division is working to create value for biobanks as a national research infrastructure, to implement cutting-edge research findings in real world settings, to promote collaborative research with industries, and to build new industry-academia collaboration systems.

健康政策分野は社会医学系の一環として、社会に生きる人々の健康に寄与する、保健・医療・研究開発に関する法制度、システム等を扱う分野です。法制度や社会システムは、目の前の一人の患者を直接に救うものではありませんが、2019年からのパンデミックで明らかになったとおり、多くの国民の生命、生活、人生に直接・間接に影響を与えます。健康政策においては、エビデンスに基づく政策が適切なタイミングで、適切な対象に、適切な手法で導入されること、その効果とコストの評価が適切になされることが非常に重要となります。
医療・健康に関する研究の推進とその社会実装の在り方も、健康政策の重要な要素です。本分野は、東北メディカル・メガバンク機構バイオバンク部門の一翼として、国の研究インフラとしてのバイオバンクの価値創造、最先端の研究成果を人々に届けるための社会実装、企業との共同研究等の推進、新たな産学連携体制の構築等の実践にも日々取り組んでいます。
