OUTLINE

This is a collaborative course established in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tohoku Rosai Hospital (TRH). Visiting professors in TRH and professors in Tohoku University School of Medicine supervise the course cooperatively. TRH is one of a front-line hospital in Sendai area that takes care of a large number of patients with orthopaedic diseases, making it possible to conduct clinical research on various musculoskeletal diseases. In 2022, there were a total of 1,766 surgeries/year, an average of 217 new outpatients/month, and an average of 101 new inpatients/month. In addition, TRH is close to Tohoku University and has deep exchanges and collaborations with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Tohoku University, making it possible to conduct joint research and basic research using the university’s facilities. This course is suitable for orthopaedic surgeons who are interested in medical doctoral research as well as training in surgical techniques as a clinician.

当講座は、東北労災病院整形外科に設置された連携講座です。東北労災病院の客員教授と東北大学医学系研究科の専任教授が共同で指導します。大学とは異なり整形外科疾患を多数診療している第一線病院であることを利用し、各種運動器疾患の臨床研究が可能です。2022年度の当科の実績は、総手術件数1,766件、月平均新患患者数217名、月平均新入院患者数101名などです。また、東北大学にも近く、東北大学大学院整形外科学分野と深い交流・連携があるので共同研究や大学の施設を利用して基礎研究を行うことも可能です。臨床医として手術手技などの修練を積みながら、医学研究にも興味がある整形外科医に適した講座です。
