OUTLINE

Our laboratory regards clinical physiological examinations—including electrocardiography, echocardiography, and pulmonary function testing—not merely as diagnostic tools, but as important “windows” into human pathophysiology. We promote an integrated research approach that connects basic science, clinical investigation, and the social implementation of emerging technologies.
Our department is built upon two major pillars. The first is basic research exploring the mechanisms of right ventricular overload and right heart failure through mitochondrial function and calcium handling. The second is large-scale clinical registry research, including the nationwide pulmonary hypertension registry (JAPHR) and the cardio-oncology registry project CHECKHEART-BC. Utilizing these robust clinical cohorts, we investigate the prognostic impact of novel therapies, develop cardiotoxicity risk prediction models, and advance disease phenotyping through AI-driven data mining and imaging analysis.
Looking ahead, we aim to further integrate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence into clinical physiological research. At the same time, we are committed to redefining the role of future medical technologists by fostering advanced clinical reasoning and physical assessment skills under the concept of task shifting. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute to more efficient, precise, and innovative healthcare systems for the next generation.

当研究室では、心電図、心臓超音波検査や呼吸機能検査などの臨床生理検査を、病態を紐解く重要な「窓」と捉え、基礎研究から臨床、そして新技術の社会実装までを一体化した研究を推進しています 。
以前より進められていた「ミトコンドリア・カルシウム代謝から右心負荷・右心不全の機序に迫る基礎実験」と、全国肺高血圧症レジストリー(JAPHR研究)や腫瘍循環器領域(CHECKHEART-BC研究)を牽引する「大規模臨床研究」が当教室の確固たる両輪です 。豊富なコホートデータを基盤に、新規薬剤の予後改善効果の検証や心毒性予測スコアの開発 、さらにはAIによるデータマイニングや画像解析など 、多角的な病態解明を進めています。
今後は、これらの臨床基盤に「AI」などの先進テクノロジーを融合した臨床研究を進めるとともに、医療現場の「タスクシフト」をキーワードに、高い臨床判断力とフィジカルアセスメント能力を兼ね備えた「次世代の高度臨床検査技師像」をリアルに描き出し 、医療の効率化や職域拡大に貢献する着実な研究を展開していきます。
