OUTLINE

Three main research themes are progressing by our medical staffs and posgraduate students;
1)Protection and therapy of hearing disturbance due to dysfunctions of both peripheral and central auditory pathway.
2)Molecular biology of head and neck cancer, and function preservation therapy for head and neck cancer.
3)Evaluation and therapy of swallowing dysfunctions.
Each theme concerns to clinical problems and therapy of disease in the field of otolaryngology & head-and-neck surgery.

当分野では「聴覚」・「頭頸部がん」・「嚥下」を主要なテーマに据え、頭頸部の広い領域において研究を進めています。
(1)内耳および中枢の音受容機構に関する研究、
(2) 人工内耳に関する研究、
(3)中耳、上気道の感染・アレルギー性炎症の研究、
(4)頭頸部がんの発症機序に関する研究、
(5)頭頸部がんに対する機能温存治療の研究、
(6)真珠腫の治療法に関する研究、
(7)難治性耳管開放症の研究、
(8)頭蓋底疾患の治療に関する研究、
(9)嚥下に関与する咽頭、頸部の筋運動に関する研究、
(10)重度嚥下障害に対する低侵襲な手術の研究、
(11)声帯麻痺による音声障害の治療に関する研究、など、幅広い研究を行っています。
これらの研究は、東北大学病院における耳鼻咽喉・頭頸部外科の臨床活動と対応し、各領域における高いレベルの診療を作り上げています。
